Phobias come in many forms, but they all have some commonalities – the overwhelming, irrational fear of something that actually poses little real danger to you. Not all phobias require treatment, but when your fear or an object or situation impedes on your everyday life, therapy can help you cope with your fears and often overcome them for good.

Individual who have phobias avoid what they fear; otherwise, they may experience:

  • Fear
  • Trembling and shaking
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Panic
  • Shortness of breath
